I Surrender: An E~Book Review

Fellow blogger, Judy at Ben Makes Ten and A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings sponsored a giveaway a few weeks ago. I received a copy of her e-book, I Surrender for entering. In this short, very easy to read e-book, Judy talks about how we are to surrender ourselves to God's Holy Will in the various facets of our lives: in family and in friendships. She has a chapter on surrender in the homeschooling day for those who are homeschooling parents.
The chapter on Surrender in Marriage should be read by every engaged couple; the thoughts and advice are priceless. Here is one of my favorite quotes from that chapter:

"Christian love is such that when our spouse is faced with dark times, we are willing to keep putting him/her first, to keep giving when nothing is given in return; for in all things, we must remember that it is CHRIST to whom we are giving first, and it is for the glory of God that we love in our marriages."

Along with some helpful advice gleaned from the experiences of her own life as wife, and mother of ten, are some thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter.
Although I am neither wife nor parent, I found this e-book with lots I could use, especially in the area of surrender in friendships. For example, asking God to choose my friends for me. After all He knows the people I need to have in my life, those that will bring me closer to Him.
In her closing thoughts, Judy offers these words:

"I surrender! If we wish to give ALL to Christ, then we will embrace His many blessings in our lives and do our best to live our lives with joy, trust, peace, gratitude, and love."
